Originating from a family of shoemakers, American shoe designer and entrepreneur Stuart Weitzman launched his eponymous brand in 1986. Weitzman's designs are known for both fashion and function and are artisanally crafted in Spain using a precisely engineered fit. The brand has also created one-of-a-kind designs, including a pair of platinum sandals adorned with 464 diamonds that actress Laura Harring wore to the 2002 Academy Awards. The luxury fashion house was founded in 1946 by Christian Dior, who is recognized as one of history’s most influential fashion designers. Founded by designer Roy Halston Frowick, his minimalist, incredibly flattering draped designs started a new phenomenon that redefined women’s fashion.
