In the 1930s, Robert Dumas created the iconic Kelly bag and with it the renowned Cadena charm. Meaning ‘padlock’ in French, the name dismisses further explanation, presented in a variety of motifs and materials. This fastening became a symbol of Hermès’ fashion influence, with its subtly engraved H signature. From an exquisite accessory, the Cadena became the centre of attention. This particular one has a polished finish on its gold-plated brass and displays a heart and key motif, introduced in 2006 as the cadena lock of the year. The heart in engraved with "2004 Annee de la Fantaisie" on one side, and on the other, "Vive L'idee!", which is "The ideas live" in French. A true collectors' piece for the passionate hearts.
