Gold L'Homme Peut Embellir la Terre 2001 H Cadena Padlock Charm by Hermès

Rare & Discontinued

Details

In the 1930s, Robert Dumas created the iconic Kelly bag and with it the renowned Cadena charm. Meaning ‘padlock’ in French, the name dismisses further explanation, presented in a variety of motifs and materials. This fastening became a symbol of Hermès’ fashion influence, with its subtly engraved H signature. From an exquisite accessory, the Cadena became the centre of attention. This particular one has a polished finish on its gold-plated brass and displays a Hermès H motif, introduced in 2001 as the cadena lock of the year. The H is engraved with the words "2001 L'Homme Peut" on one side, and on the other, "Embellir La Terre", which is "Man Can Embellish the Earth" in French, a phrase closely related to carpe diem. A true collectors' piece. Sourced by: Boutique in Japan Color: Gold Period: 2001 Hermès H motif Gold-plated brass Polished finish Push-lock fastening Engraved logo Limited Edition piece
