Gold Année de la Musique 1996 Lyre Cadena Padlock Charm by Hermès

Rare & Discontinued

Details

In the 1930s, Robert Dumas created the iconic Kelly bag and with it the renowned Cadena charm. Meaning ‘padlock’ in French, the name dismisses further explanation, presented in a variety of motifs and materials. This fastening became a symbol of Hermès’ fashion influence, with its subtly engraved H signature. From an exquisite accessory, the Cadena became the centre of attention. This particular one has a mixture of polished and brushed finish on its gold-plated brass and displays a lyre motif, an ancient greek musical instrument that is similar to a harp. Introduced in 1996 as the cadena lock of the year, the lyre is engraved with the words "Année de la Musique" . A true collectors' piece adding an angelical fashion touch to your Hermès bag.
